On The Bandwagon!
For years and years I've resisted the lure of LJ. I'm not a public journaller, I'm terrible about keeping up, I have enough in my life... the excuses rolled on and on. But I've finally decided to drink the koolaid so I can leave comments on my friends' pages and keep up with both a.n.ers and college friends.
Brief life update:
So Drew and I finally bought a house this summer. It's a two-flat with friends/tenants upstairs. I'm still managing apartments, he's still working on his PhD. We've decided that we'd like to settle down in Madison, hence the house. We're pretty busy with our synagogue and our D&D group, so much so that I've given up on joining a knitting group, and we're dropping IFGS.

Dunno how up-to-date you are on my life so here's the summary...

Congrats on the baby and the house! Good grief, when did my friends all become responsible adults? I'd love in on the pregnancy filter.
Funny, it sounds like your living situation's a lot like ours. We have a 2-flat with friends upstairs. Only my friends are tenants, so we hope to one day have the whole thing to ourselves. Which is good 'cause we have a 1-bedroom apartment, fine with a baby but not for the long haul.

Around here *all* the two-families have a first-floor 2ish bedroom apartment and a second & third floor 3-5 BR, so we're in the 3BR upstairs...it should hold us for the foreseeable future :).
Sticking you on the filter...most of the posts have a "legume" tag if you want to read archives easily.

In the area of life update, I also bought a house in Minneapolis last summer. Mine is a single family, two bedroom, which is about the right amount of space for me and my three birds. Pictures of the house can be seen here and pictures of the birds can be seen here. My parents will be leaving Madison at the end of this academic year - my mom has been working in St. Paul for years now and my dad is taking retirement at the UW and will be starting a new position at William Mitchell College of Law, also in Saint Paul. Hopefully I'll make it out to Madison a few more times before they sell my childhood home!
