Ok,  "Social Networking for books" makes it sound like all my books are going to get their own MySpace pages or something. What I'm actually talking about is Good Reads. A friend just mentioned it this afternoon, and I have been sucked in. It's a listing/book review site, but what I like is that it covers all books you've read, not just "books I own". So it looks to be a great source for book recommendations. Right now my book rec's come from reading [personal profile] naomikritzer, NPR, and dumb luck, so I'm excited to have a source that's easily searchable.

The site uses a very familiar friends system that's primarily organized by email address. I'm jenn at bernat dot net.

Now go read! :)

Did you know that [livejournal.com profile] naomikritzer grew up in Madison and her family were Beth El members? She & I went to West High and were on the MaTTY board together (she's a year younger than me). I don't remember actually being friends though, just acquaintances. I've been very impressed by what she's been up to since then, though!

Yep. I went to college with her little sister. Abi told me all about Madison when we moved here. And more importantly, she told me when Naomi published so I could buy/read them. I still get a kick out of seeing her books at the library, where other people might read them!

Hey! I remember you. :-) (And we WERE friends. We ate lunch together and everything and I bet you even signed my yearbook. ;-) I had forgotten we were on the MaTTY board together, though. Did we also sing in the Temple choir together?)
