I'm listening to Talk of the Nation right now and they're polling people about their favorite Christmas specials. Mine are the 1964 Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer and A Muppet Family Christmas. Rudolph has the fabulous details of the elf who wants to be a dentist and the Abominable Snowman who makes sno-cones (who got a cameo in Monsters Inc). The Muppet one is a cross-over of Sesame Street, Fraggle Rock, and Muppets. The Swedish Chef is in charge of cooking dinner and wants to serve up Big Bird. Priceless.

What's your favorite TV Christmas special and what makes it so special?

We just watched the first episode of season 4 of Dr Who. So it's Dr #10 and the Run Away Bride, Donna.
Spoilers )

I need a Dr #10 icon. :)

Last night DH and I started to watch the current season of Dr Who (yay bit torrent!) -- season 3 of the revival, or season 2 of the 10th Dr.
Spoilers: Only read if you're in the UK or otherwise up to date with Dr Who. These won't be shown for almost a year in the US.  )
I love how open the current Dr Who and Torchwood writers are about sexuality. I could use a little less of the graphic sex in Torchwood, but the basis is great. They're not uptight about gender at all. Dh and I were wondering if that's particular to Dr Who and Torchwood or if it's more generalized across British television.

Tonight we caught up on Heroes, watching the first two episodes of the second half of the season. Spoilers for those who have not seen Godsend or The Fix )
