Wooly tights!

wrenbI love wearing opaque tights rather than pantyhose. I have two favorite outfits this winter that call for grey or black tights. Unfortunately due to my long legs and round-belly shape I am really hard on tights. I usually buy them at Target or Kohls, but they don't last much longer than pantyhose -- I put a toe right through.
Today's black tights are on their last wearing. My big toe was poking through as I switched from boots to shoes at the office this morning. And my toes are cold. So I started looking online for wool tights. Vermont Country Store (my go-to site for old-fashioned things) wanted $36 for one pair. Lands End have cotton tights but no wool ones. And then I found Warm Legwear. I bought a pair of merino tights and two pairs of warm dress socks (one wool, one acrylic) that are all made in the USA and Canada. Free shipping, and the socks are half the price of my usual Smart Wool dress socks.
Next fall or perhaps in the spring I should buy some more cotton tights. They've got some with reinforced toes! My thought is that if I post this now, I might be able to remember where I bought them next time.
