Hiking!

I've just started hiking recently. Last week I went with a couple of friends. This week they were all busy so I ended up hiking on my own. It was sooo nice! I loved having the time to let my mind wander, to be in the present, and to admire the gorgeous scenery. I so rarely have the opportunity to do just one thing for a long time. This morning I hiked for an hour and 45 minutes!

I really enjoyed being in the green shade with little creeks running alongside the trail. There were a lot of people out there; I was passed every 5 minutes or so. That gave me enough quiet to feel alone but enough company to not worry about emergencies. At one point I was passed by an entire cross country team of shirtless teenage boys!




The scraggly trees and beckoning paths reminded me of my time in Big Sur last summer.


I thought this looked like a throne of leaves, so I took a picture for labelleizzy. It didn't quite come out the way it looked to my eye, but it's the best I could manage.

I had a wonderful time. And I'm definitely going back as much as I can manage!

Nifty! Where were you hiking?

Edit: Oh, I see, "PG&E Trail" is indeed a specific trail: http://www.redwoodhikes.com/Skyline/PGE.html. I shall have to go at some point; that does look like quite a nice hike!

I was at Rancho San Antonio. It's an easy drive from my house and convenient for one of my hiking partners who lives in Cupertino.
