1. Dr Who
2. Heroes
3. Battlestar Galactica
4. Stargate
5. The Daily Show

The Sci-Fi channel is pretty much the only reason we chose to upgrade our cable from the bare bones option to more channels. We've been recording the current season of Dr Who but were waiting to watch it until we'd seen last season. Started watching the 9th Dr last week. Wow. I was blissed out as the theme music came on. It was practically Pavlovian!

We gave up cable entirely. However...

We have my dad mail us Battlestar Galactica and Stargate, and we've been buying The Daily Show from itunes.

I wish we didn't pay so much for cable. But we were bit-torrenting so much that I was starting to feel guilty.

Yeah, I do feel half guilty for the DVDs my dad mails me each week...but only half.

Still, I think I'd go for itunes over cable (batG is on there, and we buy off there when we miss an episode), even if I didn't have the DadCableTV. The whole no-commercials thing is *nice*.

I so rarely watch commercials anymore. It's nice when a recording has them cut out entirely, but fast forwarding through them works ok too. MythTV is my friend.

We just (as in Sunday night) cut the "standard" cable and now just have "basic" so we don't have SciFi. That, along with Speed for J and Playhouse Disney for Z and the Colbert Report for J and I, was the only reason we had to keep standard. But we figure we can rent Dr. Who when it comes out. Or buy it. Either way, we *will* see it. But we just couldn't justify $42 a month anymore for just those channels.

Doctor Who...drool...

J likes Battlestar Galactica, but he still has most of last season to watch -- again, it will be rentable eventually.

Do you like Heroes?

Heroes is fun. We're 2 episodes behind now (haven't picked up from the mid-season break). It kind of reminds me of B5 where the puzzle pieces are all laid out but you don't have enough data to see the big picture.

Dr Who is definitely drool-worthy. I see you have my favorite Dr as your icon. :)

It all makes sense now...

:) Now I understand your comment! I hadn't seen the 2 most recent episodes of Heroes when I originally replied.

Ah, yes. Definitely wondering if you were planning on checking out Christopher Eccleston on Heroes. I already loved that show but now I'm extra gaga about it.
